With both teams in the midst of wildcard fights, expect a tense playoff atmosphere when Edmonton visits Pittsburgh for the opening game of their road trip.
In other words, the situation favours the Penguins.
The Oilers don’t have much history when it comes to the post-season, but the Penguins practically live there. Former Washington Capital Alex Chiasson has seen Pittsburgh at its most determined and knows they will be a ferocious test.
“I’ve played Pitt quite a bit, played them in the playoffs,” he said. “They’re a team with a lot of experience and they’re comfortable being in the position they are now. It seems like this is the time of the year they raise their play, so this is a big challenge for us.”
